Speaking to the press, Sharpe said, "I think Amad is the superior talent, and I agree with the decision to keep him at the club."
Sharpe praised Amad's performance on the right wing, noting that he works well with teammate Bryan Mbeumo and has the ability to cut inside and cause trouble for opposing teams.
However, Sharpe also identified areas for improvement for Amad, including his defensive responsibilities and decision-making.
He added, "I think he's done a great job so far, especially considering it's not his natural position. He's shown a good work ethic and willingness to learn, but he still has room for improvement."
Sharpe also highlighted the importance of adding depth to the wing-back position, citing concerns about the current options available to manager Ruben Amorim.
He suggested that United would benefit from signing another senior wing-back to provide options for Amorim and alleviate some of the pressure on Amad.
