Amorim acknowledged the history between the two clubs, noting that each team has experienced periods of dominance and struggles.
"Sometimes things change quickly," Amorim said, "but if you look at the past, you can see that one team has been winning consistently while the other has been going through a tough time.
This has happened in the past, with Manchester United thriving when Liverpool was struggling, and vice versa.
Amorim emphasized that the team's focus is on winning the next game, rather than worrying about their overall position relative to Liverpool.
"We can win any game," he said. "If we think about just winning the next game, that's the most important thing.
Amorim also expressed the team's goal of eventually becoming competitive with Liverpool, but acknowledged that it may take time.
