When asked if the episode had strengthened his relationship with his teammates, he replied, "Yes, absolutely." Fernandez explained that it was a difficult time, but his teammates understood him.

He continued, "It was a euphoric moment in which I didn't want to hurt anyone. It was just a song that we sing in Argentina as part of football folklore."
