Amorim recently called United's players "chokers" before their friendly match in Hong Kong.
De Ligt, who is from the Netherlands, likes that Amorim speaks his mind and tells the truth.
"I can understand why people might be surprised by this kind of talk," De Ligt said.
"But I think it's good that someone is finally speaking their mind and being honest." De Ligt also appreciates the way Amorim communicates with him personally.
"It makes me feel like I can trust him, and he can trust me," he said.
De Ligt believes Amorim's approach will pay off in the long run, despite the team's struggles last season.
"I've worked with many managers, and Amorim is one of the easiest to talk to," he said.
Amorim is focused on building a team that is more than just a collection of individual talents.
"He wants to create a team where players work together, support each other, and make the most of what they have," De Ligt said.
This is a change from the past, where even with great players, the team was not always successful.
